Well, let me tell you, this whole buying a British Virgin Islands driving license online thing, it’s a real head-scratcher. Back in my day, you just went down to the local, you know, place, and they gave you a license if you could see over the steering wheel. Now it’s all computers and the internet.

But I hear tell, it’s easier now, in some ways. You don’t gotta stand in no long lines. You can just do it all from your comfy chair. They say you can go to some website, *.gov, something like that, and just click a few buttons.

Getting Your License

First thing you gotta do is, what they call, “register.” That’s just putting your name and whatnot in their computer. Sounds fancy, but it’s probably not that hard. Then you gotta find the right place to click, something about “account” and “payment.”

Then, you pay ’em some money. I don’t know how much, but I bet it’s more than it used to be. Everything’s more expensive these days. After you pay, they send you a receipt. Not a real one you can hold, but one on your email. That’s like a letter, but it’s on the computer. Or you can print it out, if you got one of them printing machines.

Renew Your License Online

They say you can even renew your license online, too. That means if your license is getting old, you don’t have to go nowhere. Just do the same thing as before, click around on that website, and pay ’em some more money.

And get this, you can even do something called a “duplicate.” That’s if you lose your license, I reckon. You can just get another one, easy peasy. Renew or duplicate driver’s license is very easy, they say. Just need to use the online service.

Vehicle Registration Too

It ain’t just for licenses, neither. They say you can do your vehicle registration online, too. That’s the thing you gotta do for your car, so the police know it’s yours. Same deal, I guess. Click, click, pay, pay. Then they mail you the papers for your car.

Seems like they’re trying to make things easier, I suppose. Don’t have to leave your house for nothing these days. Update your address, renew your license, or your vehicle registration. All online now. But you still need to pay for the temporary driver license BVI. And foreign visitors can drive in the British Virgin Islands with the temporary license for about three months. If you want a motorcycle license, I think you need to be 16 years old or older.

What I think

Some folks say it’s good, this online stuff. Saves time, they say. But you still gotta have that computer, and know how to use it. And you gotta have that email thing, too.

If you don’t want to do all that, you could probably just go to the car rental company. I heard people said you could go to International Motors. I don’t know where it is. But I think they can also help you get the license.

And, you gotta have money, of course. Nothing’s free, especially not these days. But if you got the money, and you got the computer, and you ain’t afraid of clicking a few buttons, then maybe this buying a license online thing is the way to go. And you can use the license for up to 90 days, I think. It sounds like a long time for me.

I don’t know for sure, though. I ain’t done it myself. My old license is still good, and I don’t drive much anymore anyway. But if you’re looking to get a British Virgin Islands driving license online, this is what I hear tell. There’s even a practice test online, 750 questions. But I think they don’t have a written test for a temporary license.
