Alright, so I tried to get my hands on a Northern Marianas driver’s license. I’m between 15 and a half and 18, so I figured it’s time to get this done.
First, I looked up what I needed for the learner’s permit test. Turns out, there’s a whole list of documents they want. I gathered all that stuff, it took a bit of digging around, but I got it all together.
Learner’s Permit Test
I found a driver’s license office nearby. They said I could schedule an appointment for the written exam, or just show up. I’m not one for waiting, so I just went for it and showed up. Luckily, the wait wasn’t too bad. The test itself was 40 multiple-choice questions, and you need 32 right to pass. They said it was easy peasy, I passed, phew!
Actually Driving
Once I got the written test out of the way, it was time to actually learn how to drive. I called up a driving school called Better Drivers and scheduled some lessons. They were pretty good, taught me all the basics.
- Complete Parts A & C
- Provide State or foreign driver’s license
- Social security card
- One (1) valid ID
After I completed my driving lessons and felt confident enough, it was time to go for the real deal – the driver’s license. If you want to get that Northern Marianas driver’s license you know that place by the Courthouse, I headed down to the DMV in Susupe. It was a bit of a process, but I filled out all the forms.
It wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be. Just a bit of studying, some driving practice, and a few trips to the DMV. Now I can finally drive myself around!
