Alright, so you wanna get yourself a Bermuda driver’s license, huh? Well, listen up, ’cause I’m gonna tell ya how it is, no fancy talk, just plain and simple.
First off, you gotta get yourself that application form. Don’t know where to find it? Go ask around, someone will point ya in the right direction. It ain’t rocket science. Fill it out best ya can. Don’t gotta be perfect, just gotta be understandable, you hear?
Now, they say you gotta take a written test. Yeah, a test. Don’t worry none, it ain’t like them fancy school tests. Just gotta know the rules of the road, like stop means stop, and go means go. Common sense stuff, mostly. Study up a bit, if you can find a book or somethin’. If not, just listen to what folks tell ya, and you’ll be alright.
And then comes the road test. This is where they see if you can actually drive without wreckin’ the car, or worse, hurtin’ someone. Practice a bit, if you can. Find an empty road, or a big ol’ field, and just drive around. Get the feel of it. Listen to the fella tellin’ ya what to do, and do it. Don’t go gettin’ all fancy and showin’ off. Just drive safe and steady, and you’ll be fine.
Now, I heard some folks talkin’ ’bout different kinds of licenses. Something about Class A and Class B, and big trucks and little cars. Look, if you just wanna drive a regular car, don’t worry ’bout all that. Just get the regular license, the one everyone gets. You ain’t plannin’ on drivin’ one of them big ol’ eighteen-wheelers, are ya? Didn’t think so.
- Get the application.
- Study for the written test.
- Practice driving for the road test.
Some folks are sayin’ you can’t rent no car if you ain’t from around here. Well, that might be true. But if you’re gonna be here for a while, and you need to get around, then you need a license. Plain and simple.
And I heard tell of somethin’ called the “eTCD system.” Sounds fancy, don’t it? Somethin’ to do with schedulin’ tests and registerin’ your car. Well, if they tell you to use it, then you gotta use it. But don’t let it scare ya. Just ask someone to help you out, if you need it. There’s always someone willin’ to lend a hand.
I even heard someone talkin’ ’bout gettin’ a license way back in 2021. Well, things mighta changed a bit since then, but the basics are the same. You gotta apply, you gotta test, and you gotta drive safe.
And if you already got a license from somewhere else, like England or somethin’, well, that might help ya. But you still gotta go through the process, fill out the forms, and take the tests. They don’t just hand ’em out, you know.
Bermuda ain’t that big, they say. And they got buses and such. But sometimes, you just need your own car, you know? To get to the store, to visit folks, to go where you need to go. And for that, you need a license.
So, there you have it. That’s all there is to it. Don’t go makin’ it harder than it is. Just follow the rules, listen to what they tell ya, and drive safe. And you’ll be cruisin’ around Bermuda in no time. Remember, safety first!
They say there are three steps. Application, then the written test, and then the driving test. Three little steps and you are done. Just keep focused and you will be fine.
And don’t forget, if you are gonna drive a big truck, well, that’s a different story. But for most folks, just a regular license will do just fine. Now go on and get that license!
