Okay, so, I needed to get my hands on a Latvian driver’s license. It wasn’t easy, but I did it. Here’s my story about how I finally got it.
First things first, I did some digging online. I found out that the CSDD is the place where you do driver’s tests, they give out the licenses, and they also handle renewals. There, you can get licenses for various vehicles, like bicycles, mopeds, motorcycles, cars, and trucks. The categories were like AM, A1, A2, A, B1, B, C1, C, D1, D, and E.
Then I learned that if you’re coming to Latvia from another country, you can drive there if you have a driver’s license. But it’s got to have the categories of vehicles defined, you know?

Getting Started
So, I gathered all the necessary documents. They were strict about it, you know, so I had to make sure everything was in order. I needed to be physically fit and meet the age requirements too.
The biggest thing was the practical driving test. It was tough, but I put in a lot of practice hours beforehand. I really wanted to pass on the first try. And guess what? I did it!
The Practical Test
I scheduled my practical driving test with the CSDD. The day came, and I was so nervous. I had to show them I could handle a vehicle safely and follow all the traffic rules. It felt like forever, but I stayed calm and focused. When it was over, the examiner told me I passed! I was over the moon, man.
Receiving the License
After passing the test, I waited for my new license to be issued. It didn’t take too long, thankfully. Finally, I got my Latvian driver’s license in my hands. Man, it felt good to achieve this. Now I can legally drive in Latvia, and it’s all thanks to a bit of research, some serious practice, and a whole lot of determination.
And just like that, I finally got my Latvian driver’s license. It was a journey, but definitely worth it in the end.
