Okay, so I needed a Norway visa. You know, the kind that lets you hang out in Norway for a bit. I started by hitting up the internet, just typing in “Norway visa” on my browser. I got a bunch of websites, some official-looking, some not so much. I clicked around, trying to figure out which one was the real deal.
After a bit of digging, I found what I think was the official website. It was a bit confusing, to be honest, with all those forms and instructions. But I powered through. I mean, a trip to Norway is worth a little headache, right?
First, I had to figure out what type of visa I needed. There’s like a million different types, it felt like. Tourist visa, business visa, visit your grandma visa, you name it. I just wanted to be a tourist, so I went with that one. Simple enough.

Then came the form-filling. Oh boy. So many questions! Name, address, why I wanted to go to Norway, have I ever been arrested, do I know anyone in Norway, blah blah blah. I just answered everything as honestly as I could and hoped for the best.
Next, I had to get some documents together. Passport photos, proof I had enough money to survive in Norway, travel insurance and my passport. It was a bit of a hassle, running around getting all this stuff, but I managed.
- Got my passport photos taken at one of those photo booth thingies.
- Printed out my bank statements to show I wasn’t broke.
- Bought some travel insurance online, which was actually pretty easy.
- Made copies of my passport.
Once I had all that sorted, I had to submit my application. I did it online, which was convenient. Just uploaded everything, paid a fee. Then, the waiting game began.
It took a few weeks, but finally, I got an email saying my visa was approved! I was so stoked! I had to go to the embassy or consulate or whatever to get the actual visa sticker in my passport. I made an appointment, went in, and boom, there it was. My ticket to Norway!
It was a bit of a process, I’m not gonna lie. But now I have my Norway visa, and I’m ready to go. If you’re thinking about getting one, just be prepared for a bit of paperwork and some waiting. But hey, it’s worth it in the end!
Lessons Learned
Start early. The whole thing took longer than I expected. Also, double-check everything before you submit your application. You don’t want any silly mistakes holding you up. Most importantly, stay patient, it could take a while to hear back about your application.
