Okay, so I’ve been meaning to get my hands on a driving license from Wallis and Futuna, and let me tell you, it’s been quite the ride. I started by looking for any official websites or information portals, which proved to be tougher than expected. I mean, it’s a small territory, so I get it, but still, a bit more clarity would’ve been nice.
First things first, I gathered all the documents I thought I might need. You know, the usual stuff like my passport, proof of residence, and some passport photos. I also made sure to have some extra copies just in case, because you never know when those might come in handy. Better safe than sorry, right?

Next, I tried to find out where exactly I needed to go to apply. Was there a specific office? Some department I had to visit? It took a bit of digging, and some asking around before I finally got a lead. Apparently, there’s a local administrative office that handles these kinds of things. I made a note of the address and planned my visit.

Head to the Office
When I got to the office, it was a bit chaotic. Lots of people, lots of paperwork, and not a lot of clear instructions. I waited in line for a good while, and when it was finally my turn, I explained what I was there for. The person at the counter handed me a bunch of forms to fill out. I found a spot to sit down and started filling them in as best as I could. Some of the questions were a bit confusing, but I managed.
After submitting the forms and my documents, I was told I needed to pay a fee. Of course, there’s always a fee, right? I paid it and was given a receipt. Then came the waiting game. They said it would take a few weeks to process everything. I left the office feeling a mix of relief and uncertainty. All in all I spent a good part of the day there, like 5 hours, maybe more. There were just so many people waiting.
During those weeks, I called a couple of times to check on the status of my application. Each time, I was told it was still being processed. Patience is a virtue, they say. Or something like that. Eventually, I got a call back saying my license was ready. I rushed back to the office, picked it up, and finally had it in my hands. It was a bit of a journey, but hey, I got there in the end!
I hope my experience can help you guys!
