Okay, so I’ve been looking into getting a Tonga passport, and let me tell you, it’s been a bit of a journey. I thought I’d share my experience here, just in case anyone else is thinking about doing the same.
First off, I started by doing some basic research online. I just typed “Order Tonga passport” into the search engine. That’s where I found some basic info about the whole process. I read a few articles about the passport application process, just to get a general idea of what I was getting myself into.
Then, I started digging a little deeper. I learned that Tonga doesn’t really do the whole dual citizenship thing. That was a bit of a bummer because I was hoping to keep my original passport too. Apparently, you can apply to get it back, but that sounded like a whole other can of worms that I wasn’t ready to open.

I also stumbled upon some stuff about dual citizenship. It’s when you have passports from two different countries that have some sort of agreement. This guarantees the rights of the dual citizens or something like that. I saw a tag “WealthComplete” somewhere, but I’m not sure what that was about. Anyway, I found out that the US is cool with dual citizenship, but there are some rules you gotta follow if you’re a US citizen.
I kept seeing things about “citizenship by investment” in places like the Caribbean and Europe. Basically, you invest some money in the country, and boom, you’re a citizen. Sounded interesting, but Tonga doesn’t seem to have that option.
So, after all that, I’m still kind of figuring things out. I figured out that Tonga has some residency and citizenship options, and there are different visa types to compare. It’s a lot to take in, honestly.
My To-Do List (Still figuring this out)
- Figure out the specifics of applying for a Tonga passport without dual citizenship.
- Look into the process of potentially getting my original citizenship back if I go through with this.
- Research more about the residency and citizenship options for people in my situation.
It’s been a bit of a wild ride, but I’m determined to get to the bottom of this. I’ll keep you all updated as I make more progress. Wish me luck!
