Well, look at you, wantin’ to go to Myanmar! Don’t know why, but ain’t none of my business. Now, you gonna need a visa, like a pass to get in. Don’t go thinkin’ you can just waltz in there like you own the place.

First thing’s first, you gotta figure out what kind of visa you need. Sounds fancy, but it ain’t. You goin’ for fun? That’s a tourist visa. Goin’ for work or somethin’? That’s a business visa. They even got somethin’ called a “transit visa” if you just passin’ through. Don’t ask me why, they got all these rules, I just tell it like it is.

Now, the easiest way, from what the youngsters tell me, is this “eVisa” thing. It’s like doin’ it all online, no need to go traipsin’ to some embassy. Embassy? Sounds like a headache to me. You just sit your behind down at that computer thingy, fill out some papers – well, not real papers, you know, the kind you type on – and send it off. They say it’s quick and easy, especially if you’re from one of them fancy countries.

  • Tourist Visa: That’s for lookin’ around, seein’ the sights. They say you can stay for maybe 28 days, maybe more. Gonna cost you some money though, maybe 40 dollars, give or take.
  • Business Visa: This one’s if you’re doin’ some work, sellin’ somethin’ or buyin’ somethin’. Costs a bit more, maybe 50 dollars, and you can stay longer, maybe 70 days. They even got one that lets you go in and out, a “multiple” one, they call it. That’s 200 dollars! Lord have mercy, that’s a lot of money.
  • Transit Visa: Like I said, just passin’ through. Costs about 20 dollars and you only get 24 hours. Don’t be dawdlin’ around!

Now, whether you get that eVisa or go the old-fashioned way, they say it takes a few days, maybe three workin’ days, to get it all sorted. Don’t go plannin’ your trip for tomorrow, you hear? And they gonna send you an email or somethin’ when it’s ready. Keep an eye out for that. Don’t go callin’ me when you can’t find it, I don’t know nothin’ about them computer things.

And listen here, they got some new rules, somethin’ about health papers. You gotta fill out a card, sayin’ you ain’t got no nasty sicknesses. They don’t want you bringin’ in no germs, I reckon. You give that card to the folks at the airport when you get there.

They also say you gotta stay in proper places, hotels and such. Can’t just go sleepin’ under a tree, I guess. And bring your money cards, the Visa and Mastercard ones, they like those. Don’t know why, cash was always good enough for me.

So, there you have it. That’s all I know about gettin’ a visa for Myanmar. Don’t go messin’ it up now. Fill out them papers, pay your money, and be on your way. And remember, if you’re an American, they say it’s quick and easy to get that eVisa. Lucky you.

One last thing, they got these “official” visas too, but I reckon you ain’t no government big shot, so don’t worry about those. Just get the tourist or business one, and you’ll be fine. Now go on, get outta here and have yourself a trip!

And don’t forget, you gotta get that visa stamped when you arrive. Don’t know why they can’t just do it all online, but that’s what they say. So, find the right office or somethin’ at the airport and get that stamp. Wouldn’t want you gettin’ sent back home after all that trouble.
