Okay, here’s my experience of applying for a Solomon Islands visa, hope it helps someone out there.
So I decided to go to the Solomon Islands. Never been, always wanted to. First thing I had to figure out was this whole visa situation. Turns out, yeah, you generally do need a visa to get in. I started digging around, trying to make sense of it all.
I found out that the first step is to fill out some form, Form 1 they called it, from the Immigration Division. I found this online, there were mentions of getting it from their website.

Honestly, it felt a bit overwhelming at first. I’m not great with paperwork. But I took a deep breath and started filling it out. Name, address, passport number, you know, the usual stuff. It took me a while, not gonna lie. I kept double-checking everything, making sure I didn’t mess anything up.
My Checklist
- Find and fill out Form 1. This took a good chunk of an evening.
- Gather some extra documents. I needed my passport, some photos, and maybe some other things, I can’t quite recall now.
- Send everything off. This was the nerve-wracking part.
Once I had it all filled out and double, triple-checked, I had to send it off. I remember being a bit nervous, hoping I did everything right. It was a waiting game after that. Every day I was checking my email, hoping for some kind of update.
Then, finally, it happened. I got an email saying my visa was approved. I was so relieved. It felt like a huge weight off my shoulders. I printed out the approval and kept it with my passport. The trip was actually happening.
Getting the visa was a bit of a hassle, but it was totally worth it. The Solomon Islands are amazing, and I had the best time. If you’re thinking of going, just make sure you give yourself plenty of time to sort out the visa stuff. It’s not super hard, just a bit tedious, you know? Don’t let it scare you off though. The trip is definitely worth the paperwork.
