Okay, so I needed to get a visa for my trip to Cambodia, and I heard doing it online is the way to go. It’s called an e-visa, which is just a fancy way of saying electronic visa, I guess.
First, I searched around the internet to find the official website. There are a bunch of sites that popped up, but you gotta be careful and make sure you’re on the real government one. You know, to avoid any scams or whatever.
Once I found the right site, I started filling out the online form. It asked for the usual stuff like my name, passport details, travel dates, and a photo. It’s pretty straightforward, just like filling out any other online form, really. Took me about 15 minutes, maybe less.
After I double-checked all my info, I moved on to the payment part. They accepted a few different options, like VISA, MasterCard, and some others that I’m not too familiar with like JCB, UnionPay, or WeChat. I just used my regular credit card, and it was a secure payment, so I didn’t have to worry about my info getting jacked.
Then I submitted the application and waited. The website said it usually takes about three days to get approved. I actually got an approval letter in my email in just two days, which was pretty quick. The approval letter is basically a PDF that says you’re good to go.
- Find the official website.
- Fill out the form.
- Pay the fee.
- Wait for approval.
- Get the approval letter.
I also found an app called “Cambodia e-Arrival”. You can use it to do some of the arrival stuff ahead of time, which is supposed to save some time at the airport. I haven’t used it yet, but I’ll definitely check it out before I leave.
So yeah, that’s pretty much it. Getting the Cambodia e-visa was way easier than I thought it would be. No need to go to an embassy or mail in a bunch of paperwork. Just a few clicks online, and you’re done. I’m glad I went this route. Way less headache, for sure.
