Hey everyone, it’s your boy back again with another one of my adventures. So, I’ve been wanting to go to Tuvalu for a while, and let me tell you, getting a visa was a whole process, but I made it! I’m here to share how I got through it, step by step, to maybe help some of you out.
Checked if I even needed a visa
First things first, I had to check if I even needed a visa. Turns out, Tuvalu is pretty chill with visitors from a bunch of countries. They’ve got this visa-on-arrival thing for up to 30 days. That means you can just land and get your visa sorted right there at the airport. But I needed to make sure I was eligible for this.
Gathered all the documents they asked for
Next up, I gathered all the documents they asked for. I double-checked that my passport was valid for at least six months and had a blank page for the visa stamp. And you know, the usual stuff – filled out the application form, got some recent photos of myself, and made sure I had proof of my return flight. I think the application form was pretty straightforward, nothing too complicated.

Headed to the airport
With all my documents in one folder, I headed to the airport. I was a bit nervous, not gonna lie, but I kept reminding myself that I had everything I needed. The flight was long, but I was too excited to sleep. I just kept imagining myself on those beautiful beaches.
Landed in Tuvalu and went straight to immigration
Finally landed in Tuvalu and went straight to immigration. I handed over my passport and all the documents. The immigration officer was a friendly guy, he asked me a few questions about my trip – you know, how long I was staying, where I was planning to stay, the usual touristy questions. I answered them all, trying to keep my cool.
Paid the fee
Then came the fee. For the visitor permit, I had to pay 100 AUD. I paid the fee, and he stamped my passport. Just like that, I was officially allowed to enter Tuvalu for 30 days!
Walked out of the airport with a big smile
Walked out of the airport with a big smile on my face. I made it! Now, it was time to explore this beautiful island. Let me tell you, it was all worth it. Tuvalu is amazing, and the visa process, though a bit of a journey, was totally manageable. So, if you’re thinking about visiting, just make sure you’ve got all your documents in order, and you’ll be fine! Stay tuned for more of my adventures in Tuvalu!
