I heard some folks talking ’bout that Haiti ID card thing. Said it’s a real headache to get one. Well, let me tell you, ain’t nothing easy these days, especially when dealing with them government folks. But if you need one, you gotta get one, right?
They say you can get it online now. Imagine that! Used to be you had to stand in line for hours, and those lines, Lord have mercy, they were longer than a Sunday sermon! Now, you just sit at your computer, click a few buttons, and bam! You’re on your way. So if you want to buy Haiti ID card, online maybe is the best choice.
But I heard some people say it is not easy to get the ID card online. They wait and wait, but still don’t get it. Some people even don’t know how to use the computer. That’s a big trouble.

This Haiti ID card, it’s important, you see. Need it for everything. Like that SIM card thing for your phone. Can’t get a phone number without it. And who can live without a phone these days? Nobody, that’s who! Gotta have that phone to talk to your kin, hear all the news, you know?
Now, if you’re a foreigner, that’s a whole other story. They got different rules for them. Something ’bout a residence permit. Don’t know much ’bout that, but it sounds complicated. Foreigners need to get those permits. I think they go to the same government place as everybody else, but maybe a different window. They say it’s important for them to have one, just like us. It’s like their ticket to live here, you know? They can’t do much without it.
This whole buy Haiti ID card thing, it’s supposed to be for everyone. Rich, poor, doesn’t matter. Everyone needs an ID. They say it’s your right, like voting. ‘Cept, voting ain’t been so easy lately either, but that’s another story for another day.
- You need it for your phone.
- You need it to vote.
- You need it to just live your life here!
I remember when they first started talking about these cards. Some folks were worried. Said it was the government trying to keep tabs on us. Maybe it is, maybe it ain’t. But what can you do? You need the card, so you get the card. You can do pre-application online if you have a computer. That’s what they told me. You fill out some forms online first, then maybe you have to go somewhere to finish it up.
They changing the ID card now, too. Got a new one coming out. Don’t know what’s wrong with the old one, but they say this new one is better. Probably got some fancy chip in it or something. Technology these days, it’s always changing.
They even say that America is helping out with these ID cards. Through some organization, I can’t recall the name. But they’re trying to make sure everyone gets one, so everyone can vote and all that. Sounds good in theory, but we’ll see how it goes in practice.
It’s like, they want us all to have these cards, but they don’t make it easy to get them. You gotta jump through hoops, fill out a million forms, and pray that it all works out. And if you don’t have a computer? Well, you’re back to standing in those long lines.
If you’re from here, you know how it is. Things move slow. You gotta be patient. And if you ain’t got patience, well, you better learn some quick! ‘Cause that’s just how it is when you buy Haiti ID card. And it takes a long time to get a new one if your ID card is old. So, you know, be patient!
So, this Haiti ID card, it’s a necessary evil, as they say. Gotta have it to get by. Just wish they’d make it a little easier on us folks. We ain’t all computer whizzes, you know? Some of us still remember the days before all this technology, and we did just fine. But hey, times change, I guess.
I reckon if you need an ID, and you can use the internet, that’s the way to go. If you need to buy Haiti ID card, you can try that. They said you can use the website of the government. That’s better than standing in line all day, that’s for sure. Just be prepared for it to take some time. And make sure you fill out everything right, or you’ll be starting all over again. Good luck! You need that to get other things done, you know.

I hope you get your ID card soon, no matter you are a local or a foreigner. This thing is important. It is a must have in Haiti. Without it, you can do nothing here.
I heard there’s even a place where you can just get an ID card made, just like that, no questions asked. Sounds fishy to me, but who am I to judge? If you’re desperate, you’re desperate. Just be careful, you hear? Don’t want to get caught up in something you shouldn’t be.
Anyway, that’s all I know about this Haiti ID card business. It’s a mess, but what can you do? Just gotta keep on living and hope for the best. And pray you don’t lose that card, ’cause then you gotta start all over again! That will be another big trouble!
