You wanna buy a Panama ID card, huh? Listen up, ’cause it ain’t as easy as pie. But I heard some things, so I tell you.
First, you gotta know, if you ain’t from ’round there, and you wanna stay in Panama for more than, like, 30 days, you need this thing called a Foreigner ID. It’s like, the law or somethin’. If you just stay for a little, you don’t need.
Now, if you gonna be there for a long time, like plantin’ roots and such, you need somethin’ else. Some folks call it an E-Cédula. Sounds fancy, don’t it? But it’s just another ID, I guess. To get that E-Cédula, you need to go the government and give them some paper. You need to show them your passport, and that paper that says you can live there forever, that’s your Permanent Resident Card. And the paper that the government gave you when you can live there forever, like Visa or something.
Most folks who move to Panama, they go to that big city, Panama City. That’s where all the action is, I reckon. Got all them fancy stores and whatnot. Everything you can find in your hometown. They got hospitals and schools, too. If you need that kinda thing. Lots of folks, single ones, ones with families, they all go there. Seems like a good place, I guess. If you like cities, that is.
Some people say you can get a Panama ID by throwing money around. 100,000 Dollars. That’s a lot of chicken feed! They say you put that money in somethin’ and you get to stay for two years. That’s called a Temporary Residence Permit. Then you can get the forever kind. Permanent Residence Permit. And then after five years, you can be one of them, a real Panamanian. Get a Panama passport and everythin’. Like magic, ain’t it?
Then there’s other ways. I heard about this thing called Qualified Investor Program. Big words, huh? Sounds important. For rich people.
- One way is buyin’ a house or land or somethin’. 300,000 dollars! Can you believe it? And they say it’s goin’ up to 500,000 dollars soon. More money than I ever seen in my whole life.
- If you do that, you get to stay, I guess. But only if you do it by October 15.
Gettin’ one of these Panama ID cards, it’s a big step. Like gettin’ married or somethin’. It’s serious business. You gotta be sure you wanna do it.
There is other way to get a Panama ID card. But I only heard a little. Maybe I will tell you next time.
So, you thinkin’ ’bout movin’ to Panama? It’s a long way from here. But if you got the money, I guess you can do it. Just remember what I told ya. You need that ID if you stay for more than 30 days. And if you wanna stay forever, you gotta jump through a bunch of hoops.
This whole buy Panama ID card thing, it ain’t simple. But nothin’ worth havin’ is, right? You gotta work for it. And you gotta have a whole lot of money, it seems. If you really want to buy Panama ID card, you need to find someone who knows more things than me.
Well, that’s all I know about that. Hope it helps ya some. Just remember, it ain’t easy to get that Panama ID card. You gotta be patient, and you gotta have a lot of money. And most importantly, you need to be very careful.
